When do you choose Cloudflare Workers, and when AWS Lambda?

Answer
I look at where the users, the data and the other services are. Workers may suit lightweight request handling on Cloudflare's network, e.g. redirects. Lambda integrates well with events and AWS services such as SQS or S3. I don't choose just by the words “edge” or “serverless”.
If a Worker has to wait several times on a database in one distant region every time, the benefit of being close to the user can disappear. I also check libraries, time limits, networking and how it will be maintained. For a team with an established AWS platform, staying with it may be more sensible than adding another provider for a small gain.
