What are S3 and R2 for?

Answer
They are object stores, i.e. places to keep files and other larger data as objects under given keys. S3 is an AWS service, and R2 a Cloudflare one. They suit documents for analysis, images, recordings and finished exports.
They don't directly replace a relational database. In the database I can keep the document's owner, its status and a reference to the file, and keep the large file itself in object storage. R2 offers an API compatible with S3 to some extent, but when moving an app you need to check the features it requires. Access to a file still has to be controlled; knowing its name shouldn't mean automatic permission to read it.
Why it matters: They appear in the CV and the full job offer.
Possible follow-ups: What is a link that grants temporary access to a file?
How did it go? Be honest — “Not yet” puts the question on your review list.
