How do you answer about SAP integration without experience of the system?
Answer out loud or in your head first, then compare.
Answer
I can say: “I haven't configured SAP, but I know API integrations. First I'd establish which process and interface this particular system exposes, and who may perform a given action.” That's an honest combination of the limit of my knowledge with transferable experience.
You need the meaning of the fields, the business rules, a test environment and error handling. I don't bypass the system with arbitrary writes to its database. If the relevant interface uses OData or REST, I learn its specific contract. On the agent's side, the most important things are controlled arguments, approval and establishing whether the write succeeded, especially after a timeout. This isn't a claim to know every SAP product.
Why it matters: Lets you take part in the conversation without inventing a competence.
Possible follow-ups: What if the target API has no built-in protection against a double write?
How did it go? Be honest — “Not yet” puts the question on your review list.
