Why does caching private RAG results need special care?
Answer out loud or in your head first, then compare.
Answer
The same phrase can give a different permitted answer to different people. If I store a result under the question text alone, I may later show someone else's documents. So the result has to be tied to the right access scope, and permission changes have to be taken into account.
A cache must not bypass a current check of the right to the content. That applies to citations and links too. I consider the browser cache, CDN, application cache and search-engine cache separately. In Next the rules depend on the router, version and settings. I don't assume every fetch is always cached, or that no response ever is.
Why it matters: A simple optimisation can accidentally create a data leak.
Possible follow-ups: What happens after a user loses access to a document whose result is already cached?
How did it go? Be honest — “Not yet” puts the question on your review list.
