Next.jsQuestion 03 of 15
What is Static Site Generation, and what about content changes?
Answer out loud or in your head first, then compare.
Answer
SSG prepares a page before the user requests it. The same generated output can serve many visitors.
Example: a company description or an article doesn't need rendering separately for each person.
To be precise: in the Pages Router, getStaticProps can supply the data for such a page. It doesn't run in the browser.
Pitfall: static generation doesn't mean no JavaScript or no interactivity. Content changes need a new build or a refresh mechanism, e.g. ISR. ISR extends the answer; it isn't an extra question confirmed in this report.
How did it go? Be honest — “Not yet” puts the question on your review list.
