Node.jsQuestion 13 of 26
Why choose Node?
Answer out loud or in your head first, then compare.
Answer
Node suits I/O-heavy systems well, e.g. an API that integrates a database and external services. It lets you use JS/TS on both sides and draw on a broad ecosystem.
In an interview: I justify the choice by the workload type, the team's skills, operational requirements and the libraries available.
Example: a server waiting on several services can handle other requests in the meantime.
Pitfall: Node isn't always faster than other technologies. Heavy computation needs e.g. worker threads, separate processes or a specialised service.
How did it go? Be honest — “Not yet” puts the question on your review list.
