What is MCP?

Answer
MCP is a standard for communication between an AI-powered application and external tools and data. Thanks to shared rules, you don't have to build a completely different integration of the same tool for every AI program.
Example: an MCP server exposes document search, and a coding agent that supports MCP can use that function. MCP isn't a model, a vector database or a planning system. It doesn't automatically grant rights to all data either. Permissions and argument checks are still needed. The exact capabilities depend on the protocol version, the client and the server, so when implementing I check compatibility rather than copying any old example.
Why it matters: MCP is in the offer and in your skills section.
Possible follow-ups: Do you always need to add MCP to call one ordinary function?
How did it go? Be honest — “Not yet” puts the question on your review list.
